What’s the best thing about working here?

Everyone at Pets at Home is friendly, supportive and welcoming. It’s hard work but rewarding.

Describe the culture

Hard working and fun.

What do you get up to on a typical day/week?

I show new starters how to pick products, wrap them to a pallet and place them in the delivery area. When complete we use handouts, programmers and our own experiences to show new starters the best way to work.

Tell us about the learning and development?

After a two-week training course with buddies, staff have the opportunity to develop their own role in the business by trying new departments and new skills. We also have an ILM apprenticeship scheme which is for three levels, rising stars, moving on up and taking the lead which develops colleagues in their current role and for future roles.

What opportunities are there for career progression?

All opportunities are advertised and colleagues can interview for new roles or departments.

Tell us about the rewards and benefits?

There are so many rewards and benefits at Pets at Home, all I can say is that there are more here than at any other company I have worked for.

How does Pets at Home give back to the community?

Pets at home hold charity events, money raising, fun runs, bike rides, golf, fancy dress. We have done them all.

Describe working here in one work

Fantastic.
