What do you get up to on a typical day/week?
I typically spend my time planning out training programmes and designing courses, creating innovative solutions to problems I come across and working closely with people around the business to help them with their training needs.
Tell us about the learning and development?
I think it’s fantastic, but then again I play a part in building it. On a personal note, my manager has always backed me when I have highlighted areas I want to develop in.
What opportunities are there for career progression?
I started on a fixed term contract and was made permanent within seven months, with a much wider role and opportunities. I am already talking with my manager about how we build and grow the function I work in. Working in the learning and development team, I know we work hard to develop career paths for everyone.
Tell us about the rewards and benefits?
The biggest reward for me is that the business is really committed to providing a great work life balance.
How does Pets at Home give back to the community?
Being a parent myself, I think the MyPetPals workshops are a fantastic opportunity for our stores to connect with the community and give parents a nice way to introduce kids to pets and pet welfare.
