What’s the best thing about working here?

Working for an organisation that puts its colleagues at the heart of what they do in terms of its wellbeing and engagement strategy, the benefits they provide, and last but not least the training and development they offer.

Describe the culture

The culture at Pets at Home is very relaxed. I feel like managers, heads of department and directors are approachable. Major changes in the business are well communicated and I feel my voice is heard.

What do you get up to on a typical day/week?

A typical day in my life as a Pets at Home colleague involves responding to emails/queries and running and analysing reports.

Tell us about the learning and development?

Pets at Home take learning and development seriously and this is well communicated to the rest of the business. We are given the opportunity to enrol in courses and workshops relevant to our tasks.

What opportunities are there for career progression?

There are always internal vacancies in the business. Also, I have regular catch ups with my line manager to discuss the opportunities available to me and the career path I want to take.

Tell us about the rewards and benefits?

The rewards and benefits reflects the culture at Pets at Home. I believe it’s one of the best in the retail industry at the moment. In addition to a competitive salary, we are given a day off on our birthday, charity leave and an extra week off when celebrating a wedding or civil partnership.

How does Pets at Home give back to the community?

Pets at Home is involved in a lot of charities both in store and in the support office and we all have the opportunity to be involved in them. Every period, we have the opportunity to give back to support adoption. We have also been involved in charity coffee and cake mornings to give back to the East Cheshire hospice and Macmillan cancer.
