What’s the best thing about working here?

The people.

Describe the culture

It is a chilled culture, we have dogs in the office and a casual smart dress code. Everyone here is supportive and friendly. We work hard and play hard.

What do you get up to on a typical day/week?

I order stocks to maintain the shelves in stores and promotions. I deal with supplier and distribution centre queries via email or phone. I run promotion reports, exit trackers and forward views to help plan stocks. I am involved with launching new and discontinuing products.

Tell us about the learning and development?

In the supply department there is a ‘steps’ programme for trainee supply planners which are in two parts. This involves store walk presentations on our departments and PowerPoint presentations on overstocks and stock turns. There are training courses available for everyone such as communication, motivation and engagement.

What opportunities are there for career progression?

There are various departments which would offer progression.

Tell us about the rewards and benefits?

There are loads of benefits, which include: staff discounts, annual bonus, ‘moving day’, ‘pet day’, charity days, you can buy and sell holiday and there is an onsite gym. Within our team we have flexitime, early finishes as rewards and an external health assessment. Carrot Crew organises social events such as fancy dress, sports day, party in the car park, competitions and pancakes for pancake day - the list goes on.

How does Pets at Home give back to the community?

Support adoption for pets and donating to local charities. We have a paid charity day which our team volunteered at Manchester Dogs Home for the day, this included dog walking and unloading food donations.
