Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cloud Platform Application Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the application layer of our cloud platform, including the eCommerce website, its ecosystem, integration layer, and databases 

 

About the Role: 

This role involves managing a dedicated team to provide comprehensive support, ensuring efficient operation, optimal performance, and high availability of all applications on the cloud platform. As a key player in our team, you will support business objectives, enhance user experience, and drive continuous improvement in application management practices. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the entire application lifecycle from development to deployment and ongoing maintenance. 

  • Lead incident management and troubleshooting for cloud platform hosted applications and third-party services. 

  • Evaluate change requests and associated risks, focusing on minimising impact on application availability and performance. 

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the application support team. 

  • Maintain key relationships to ensure cohesive teamwork. 

  • Manage relationships with cloud service providers, vendors, and stakeholders. 

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to align support and future strategy. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the eCommerce website and cloud platform applications. 

  • Maintain security and compliance of applications hosted on the cloud platform and associated third-party software. 

  • Design and implement monitoring solutions for critical components of cloud hosted applications. 

  • Monitor and optimise performance and scalability of the eCommerce website and cloud hosted application services. 

  • Support cost management for the cloud platform, optimising resource utilisation and identifying cost-saving opportunities. 

  • Contribute to strategic planning efforts related to cloud platform hosted applications, aligning technology initiatives with business goals. 

  • Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure reliability and resilience in application architecture. 

  • Establish disaster recovery plans and backup strategies, working collaboratively with relevant teams and third parties. 

  • Align with automation strategy for cloud hosted application services. 

 

Essential Experience: 

  • Technical management experience with a retail website and its ecosystem. 

  • Strong application development background using C#, JavaScript (React framework). 

  • Knowledge of cloud architecture principles and microservices. 

  • Familiarity with Azure services: App Services, SQL Database, Functions, Logic Apps, Storage, and more. 

  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps for building and deploying applications. 

  • Understanding of security best practices for cloud applications and retail compliance. 

  • Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines for applications. 

  • Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). 

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Leadership skills to manage technical teams and external relationships. 

  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
