Are you a proactive and analytically-minded finance professional with a passion for making a real impact in a fast-paced retail environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Commercial Finance Analyst at our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.
As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Commercial Team by providing financial insights, analysis, and reporting to drive informed decision-making. Reporting directly to the Commercial Finance Manager, you will be responsible for various financial activities, including weekly trading sales and margin reporting, stock and margin analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and more.
- Prepare and interpret weekly trading sales, margin, and supply chain reports, identifying key performance drivers and recommending action plans to address areas of underperformance.
- Develop and maintain commercial models to provide insight on performance and trends related to stock and underlying margins.
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs, provide support, and influence decision-making.
- Collaborate with the wider Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely period end sales and margin reporting.
- Contribute to monthly reporting and analysis, including insights for Commercial Business Review and Board Packs.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis on underperforming areas, working with stakeholders to develop effective action plans for performance improvement.
- Assist in the preparation and input of budgets, forecasts, and risk and opportunity assessments.
- Provide support during audits related to stock and margin.
- You must be working towards and Accountancy (CIMA or equivalent) finance professional.
- Previous experience in a Commercial Finance role, ideally within the retail industry.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including experience with Sumifs, pivot tables, and graphs.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-changing commercial environment.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to build strong relationships across departments.
Location: Handforth, Cheshire. Hybrid working, office based working from our Handforth (Cheshire) Support Office for 2-3 days a week
