About the role

As a confident, enthusiastic, team player you will play a critical role in the delivery of our scope 3 SBTi approved target carbon reduction targets. Your primary responsibilities will lie in the collation, analysis and reporting of product, service, and supplier scope 1 and 2 environmental data. This will be critical in helping us deploy a targeted approach to our products and services, helping us recognise where our greatest environmental impacts lie and in supporting our understanding on how our interventions are working.
As part of the core sustainability team, you will also have the opportunity to gain experience across all ESG pillars working with experts in their fields. We work as one team and there will be lots of opportunity to develop in broader areas.
Key responsibilities (will include, but not limited to)
- Deal with supplier queries on sustainability data and reporting.
- Support delivery of external reporting – including TCFD, CDP and annual non-financial reporting.
- Work with the trading and quality teams to understand our suppliers’ sustainability strategies and track their progress over time.
- Support the development of sustainability policies, procedures, guidance, and training material.
- Support the onboarding of new suppliers.
- Network through industry and keep up to date with regulatory obligations, current trends and best practice in areas of responsibility and broader involvement.
What we’re looking for
- A passion for sustainability and reducing environmental impacts.
- A great communicator who is skilled at building effective working relationships with stakeholders across functions and externally.
- Highly organised with an analytical mind and great reporting skills.
- Experience in environmental sustainability including reporting, circularity, understanding carbon mapping and carbon reduction strategies.
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
- Experience with PowerBI would be advantageous but isn’t essential
- Retail or supplier experience (food, non-food, or services) preferred but not essential with a good understanding of the end-to-end supply chain process.
- Experience working with carbon databases such as Climate Partners, Ecovadis etc. is highly advantageous.
