Product and Promotion maintenance

  • Manage all product and promotion set ups relating to puppy and kitten – this includes any category promotions or setting up codes needed for marketing campaigns
  • Setting up new products online – liaising with all of the relevant teams to ensure we launch seamlessly

Optimising the online journey

  • With our customer first mind-set it is key that we use onsite analytics to understand customer behaviour – this should be used to feed in to the wider category strategy and we should constantly be looking for ways to optimise this journey to drive conversion, sign ups, AOV and in turn sales and profit
  • Focus on driving conversion – this could be through product assortment, pricing or onsite merchandising
  • There will be a focus on trialling, testing, learning and sharing results for all new initiatives. This aspect of the role will be analytics and results driven
  • Collaborate with the online optimisation team to set up relevant cross sells, upsells and relevant product recommendations driving sign ups
  • You will also work with this team to optimise sales from search
  • Use tools as your disposal to activate trials online, for example, work with the optimisation team on AB tasty to test and learn what resonates with customers and delivers the best results


  • This involves loading any new puppy and kitten products on to the website
  • Ensure that product imagery and content is optimal to drive conversion
  • Review categorisation and sequencing for all puppy and kitten products
  • Work with the design team to manage and maintain any relevant landing pages
  • Use Bloomreach merchandising tool to optimise conversion and review category and search opportunities

Campaign Activation

  • Manage all campaigns on the website relating to puppy and kitten
  • Make sure we are aligned to all other channels across the business for these campaigns
  • Support creative asset delivery from briefing stage to onsite installation, communicating and following up on all aspects of development and execution
  • Manage the online promotional activity plan relating to puppy and kitten, liaising with the design, stock and digital communication teams to launch seamlessly
  • Monitor competition and industry online trends and share internally with key stakeholders;
  • Work with the puppy and kitten team to ensure relevant customer communications are relevant and timely
  • Work collaboratively with the social team to look for opportunities to drive sales and engagement with the Pets at Home brand
  • Work with the digital marketing team on initiatives to drive awareness of the puppy and kitten club externally to help drive traffic to

Performance Reporting

  • This role requires the candidate to be the channel expert for the puppy and kitten team, constantly reviewing what is happening in the wider digital market, understanding how this may impact us and looking for ways to improve and grow with a focus on commercial viability
  • Review sales and profit metrics – working closely with the commercial finance to identify opportunities to drive sales and sign ups to the club to ensure we hit our business plan sales and margin targets
  • Review onsite analytics to understand where there may be opportunities to drive conversion;
  • Create effective promotional plans, analysing and sharing results in a timely fashion
  • Feed in to the weekly online commentary to share results, opportunities and forthcoming activity plans
  • Ensure all key stakeholders are fully informed on performance and progress

Experience, Knowledge & Expertise

  • The online environment is fast paced and the candidate must be able to react at pace to any opportunities and be able to prioritise their workload to deliver the most impactful results;
  • We need someone who is creative, can spot commercial opportunities and react quickly to deliver results;
  • The candidate should have both a commercial and analytical eye, with keen attention to detail;
  • Strong numerical skills;
  • Excel skills are a must to be able to manipulate and showcase data;
  • You will be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, both within and outside of the organisation;
  • You will be keen to learn from others and engage help from across the business which will enable you to both develop yourself as well as the role;

  • The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within a fast moving, retail environment and will preferably have digital experience;
  • Understanding of GA360 would be beneficial, but training can be given;
