Our Journey

From a single store with just 15 colleagues back in 1991, Pets at Home Group has grown to 455 pet care centres, 322 Groom Rooms, 444 Companion Care and Vets4Pets surgeries and over 16,000 total Pets at Home Group colleagues.

We’re now the UK’s leading pet care business, providing pet owners with everything they need to be able to look after their pet – from grooming services, food, toys and bedding, right the way through to first opinion veterinary care.

To do this, we’re continuing to build a culture where everyone can thrive: by taking pride in our jobs, working together, making things fun, getting a little better every day – and always delivering on our promises.

We believe that everyone who works here has a special responsibility to help keep pets happy, healthy, and safe. That’s why we train our colleagues thoroughly, check that everything we offer is tested specifically for pets, make sure prospective pet owners understand their responsibilities and offer full veterinary care – from health checks and vaccinations right through to digital x-rays and operating theatres.

As we begin to move on from the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re working hard to promote a proud, performance-led culture. We’re doing this by embracing modern ways of working and encouraging colleagues to develop in ways that suit them. Whatever we do, and however we do it, we do everything with kindness, and we always put pets first.
