Manchester Dogs Home Charity Day

Manchester Dogs Home Charity Day

Colleagues from the Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire and nearby stores met at the warehouse in Manchester Airport, which was kindly donated to Manchester Dogs Home following the tragedy in September last year, to help sort through a mountain of products that have been donated to the charity.

Manchester Dogs Home was overwhelmed with the generosity from big-hearted animal lovers who donated thousands of products including bedding, food, toys and treats for the homeless dogs; and now more than 9 months on the charity has decided to send the leftover products out to surrounding rescue centres that are also in need.

Pets at Home colleagues came to the rescue to help sort through the donations making sure that they were distributed to centres across the country.

More than 90 Pets at Home colleagues took part in the charity day to help organise 600 pallets of products.

Charitable Foundation Manager, Amy Wilson, said: “Manchester Dogs Home were in need of help to make sure extra donated product got distributed to centres and recues that are always relying on donations to help look after the homeless pets across the country.

“We think it’s amazing that charities have been able to go along and pick up free supplies which will save their money to help fund veterinary treatments and find the pets new homes; it will be like Christmas has come early!”
