Pets at Home Group Plc is the UK’s leading pet care business; our commitment is to make sure pets and their owners get the very best advice, products and care. We have over 450 stores, over 310 Groom Rooms and 440 First Opinion Vet Practices. Our business is fast-paced, innovative and fun and it's our people that make the real difference. This is a fantastic opportunity to come and work for an award winning company who put people at the very heart of everything they do.

About the role

We’re looking for an eLearning Designer to join us on a minimum six month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. We have adopted a hybrid working model of home/office working and we’re happy to discuss individual needs.

As the eLearning Designer, you will be responsible for designing and building digital learning content to support the business needs, including videos.

This is an interesting and varied role where you’ll be given plenty of autonomy. You won’t just be designing modules for compliance but will instead focus on a range of engaging content (including videos) for right across our business, such as the care of pets in our stores for example.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Creating online e-learning courses (using Articulate software and Evolve Authoring tools) that will be accessed by colleagues via our Learning Management System
  • Writing training plans and scripts that articulate stakeholder briefs in a way that conveys stories to learners
  • Creating challenging quizzes and interactions to test learning
  • Developing storyboards and subsequent animated learning videos
  • Publishing and testing of content to ensure the seamless launch of new courses

About your experience

You’ll be an already capable eLearning Designer who has experience of using the Evolve Authoring tool and is fully proficient with authoring courses in Articulate Rise and Storyline.

You’ll have experience of working within a digital learning design/development position and working with stakeholders to create bite-sized learning content.

Further key experience/attributes include;

  • Familiarity with creating/sourcing relevant artwork, within brand and design guidelines, using Adobe Creative Suite products: Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Experience of video production and video editing (Camtasia, Vyond)
  • Understanding of SCORM standards in e-learning and knowledge of Learning Management Systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with subject matter experts across the business.
  • Experience of creating motion graphic videos (desirable)
  • Experience of using online graphics tools such as Canva (desirable)
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors LMS (desirable)
  • Experience using Vimeo Pro platform (desirable)

Our diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of our group. If you think you’re a good match to what we are looking for, and you share our belief that together ‘we’re better with pets’, we’d like to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.

About our purpose

Far more than a retailer, Pets at Home Group is the UK’s leading pet care specialist, fulfilling every possible pet and owner need, from food and accessories to grooming and vet services. Since 1991, we’ve been building a business around pets and their owners and we’ve set our sights on becoming the best pet care business in the world. Join us now and you can be part of that journey, developing your future as we develop ours. This is a place where you can take pride and passion in your work within an inspiring, professional team that’s focused on supporting pets and their owners to live happier lives together.

We’re driven by the wellbeing of pets and we make sure we look after our people too. We depend on your commitment and innovation, and reward it with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits. Together we’ll create the future of pet care.
