Retail IT Business Partner
Contracted Hours: 39
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Chester House, Epsom Ave, Handforth, Cheadle, Greater Manchester, SK9 3DF
About the job
As Retail IT Business Partner, you will play an important role in shaping and owning the technology strategy and roadmap for our retail business. The role forms part of our IT leadership team, reporting into our Group CIO, and operates as part of our Retail Executive group. Acting as the strategic interface between technology and our retail business, the IT Business Partner position will offer a unique opportunity to directly impact on the delivery of business strategy through the effective use of technology, building competitive advantage, and improving efficiencies and effectiveness across the organisation.
The IT Business Partner role will act as a trusted advisor and the key point of contact within technology across our retail executive group and senior leadership teams. Whether focusing on innovation, new ways of working, or introducing new products or solutions, the role will be responsible for shaping and planning solutions that meet the demands of our business and customers, in collaboration with the technology delivery teams.
This is a highly visible and senior leadership role, that will offer cross functional working across our group, enabling someone to build upon their leadership, influencing and commercial skills.
About your experience & skills
Whilst this role forms part of our IT Leadership team, an in-depth understanding of technology isn’t necessarily required. You will be supported by a team of technical experts, project delivery and business change teams and tech support colleagues. What’s essential is an ability to work closely with our technical and change teams, combined with extensive experience and comprehension of retail operations. An understanding of how to shape, initiate and land new projects and initiatives in retail effectively would help to ensure success in this role.
A strategic thinker, you must be able to demonstrate a resilient and solution focused approach, with an ability to prioritise effectively and confidently. The IT Business Partner will manage a range of demands from across the business and work with a variety of stakeholders. This will require someone with a proven track record of translating technical information to a range of audiences in a user-friendly way. Solid negotiation and influencing skills are essential, in addition to exceptional communication and engagement skills. You will also be able to demonstrate sound analytical skills, and ideally have experience of developing new concepts and business cases.
The role will report into the Group CIO, and will form part of our retail executive, therefore sound commercial knowledge and understanding is required; alongside comfort levels in, and experience of, working as part of a senior leadership team.
